Procedure:

1. Read and accept/decline the disclaimer/agreement. Press the continue button.
2. Type your address into the box and then press the submit button.
3. You will get 1 of 3 results; sucess and address assignments and a map appear, failure and and address not found message appears, or you will have multiple results from which you must choose.
4. If your address is not found, please read the rules below to see why.
5. If you have multiple results, then select the address that is appropriate to your case. If you are confused see the address range description section below.

Rules:

1. There must be a street name.
2. The street name must be spelled correctly.
3. The street type is optional. If present, it must follow the street name or the directional suffix.
4. The house number is optional. If present, it must go before the street name.
5. The zip code is optional. If present, it must go at the end of the address.
6. A street name beginning with Mount must be abbreviated as "MT" (e.g. MT Everest Ln).
7. A street name beginning with Saint must be abbreviated as "ST" (e.g. ST Andrews Way).
8. A street name beginning with Mac or Mc must have a space following (e.g. Mc Auliffe Dr).
9. The address is not case sensitive.

Address range description:

1. The house numbers on a street generally progress in an ascending or descending order along the street.
2. These numbers are all even on one side of the street and all odd on the opposite side of the street as represented in the results table under the "Side" heading.
3. On one corner of a road intersection will be the highest or lowest house number.
4. The lowest house number is under the "From" heading in the results and the highest is under the "To" heading.
5. Your house number is somewhere betweeen these numbers or is one of these numbers.

Acceptable address entrys are:

2. Hungerford Dr
3. 850 Hungerford
4. 850 Hungerford Dr
5. 850 Hungerford Dr, 20850
6. 850 Hungerford Dr, Rockville 20850
7. 850 Hungerford Dr, Rockville MD, 20850

Reasons an address may not be found:

1. Invalid Address - An address may be valid in some jurisdictions, but not in Montgomery County and may not be recognized by the system.
2. User Error - There may be a problem with the address entered. The street name could be misspelled or a house number mistyped.
3. Sytem Error - There are rare cases where the system does not recognize a valid address for technical reasons.
